Before you begin
Green card applicant
The relative applying for permanent residence. This person’s information goes on Form I-485.
U.S. citizen petitioner and sponsor
The U.S. citizen relative who filed or is filing Form I-130 and completes Form I-864.
- MimiDocu prepares Form I-485 and Form I-864 for three situations only: the spouse, the parent (when the citizen is at least 21), or the unmarried child under 21 of a U.S. citizen.
- The green card applicant must be in the United States and must have been inspected and admitted or paroled at the applicant's last entry.
- The first questions check whether your situation fits. If it does not, MimiDocu will recommend speaking with a qualified immigration attorney. This is not a legal eligibility decision.
- Form I-693 (Report of Immigration Medical Examination and Vaccination Record) must be completed by a USCIS-designated civil surgeon. MimiDocu does not prepare Form I-693. Current USCIS instructions require you to submit the completed, signed Form I-693 with your Form I-485 — confirm this on the official USCIS Form I-693 page before you file.
- The applicant's and petitioner/sponsor's answers are saved automatically after sign-in.
- The green card applicant signs Form I-485. The U.S. citizen petitioner and sponsor signs Form I-864. MimiDocu never signs either form.
